How Has Spanish Played a Role in Your Personal and Professional Life?

I’ve been either teaching or studying or researching since my undergrad (2004). Started PhD at U of M focusing on ethnogenesis, nature, and land distribution in 16th-17th century Peru. I’d say my life has always been in someway Spanish-adjacent!

High school 2006-2013. KU 2013-2015. U of M 2016-2019.
More About Me

I returned to education at a level I’ve never taught. I have about 6 native speakers in grades 4, 6, & 7. The position I entered was covered by 3 different substitute teachers over the past 3 months and the poor children (6th & 7th grade) have been isolated doing Duolingo for the past 3 months. I am searching for advice on how to develop a curriculum that will help my native speakers continue to develop their special skills while also not having to be isolated with a Chromebook and earbuds on Duolingo.
