How Has Spanish Played a Role in Your Personal and Professional Life?

My first Spanish class was at age 17.  I had no idea I would actually try and communicate one day with it. Then I moved to Miami. I fell in love with the Cuban culture, but I hated the city. Throughout my career I have taught in schools where there was a need for Spanish teachers…and I was a music teacher.   Some of the most fascinating of my friends are Hispanic, and I have always been drawn to the language.  One day, I began studying with the intent to learn it for real!  Now I teach Spanish.  I am hoping that one day I will be able to travel to these wonderful, beautiful places I hear and study about.  Until then, I will be sharing my love for the language and culture here at my school.
