How Has Spanish Played a Role in Your Personal and Professional Life?

I’m from Spain and came to the United States when I was around 30 to teach at a university. My Ph.D. is in Spanish language and linguistics, and most of my publications are in Spanish. I only teach classes in Spanish. I go to Spain every year, around 4 months, and most of my friends are from Mexico and Argentina.
