| How Has Spanish Played a Role in Your Personal and Professional Life? |
I grew up in Puerto Rico. Spanish language is used to affirm our heritage against the colonial government of the United States. In P.R. being bilingual is the goal, but the access to good quality public education is lacking in order to achieve this. Spanish has played the role of remembrance in my life. Remembrance of cultural practices, idioms, humor, people’s connections and life experiences.

| More About Me |
I trained to be a Drama teacher in Puerto Rico. I also finished my masters in educational theatre in New York University. When the recession happened in 2008 I had to stayed in the US and was not able to go back to my island. I acquired a cross endorsement in World Language Spanish the next year and found my calling.
