Buenos Dias,
Our 6th grade teachers (classroom) are building a curriculum integrating the Social Studies topic of Latin America into the work they do for Readers’ Workshop. One of the things we desperately need is a ton of non-fiction and fiction chapter books for students. Subtopics can include immigration, religion, indigenous people, environmental issues, drug cartels/corruption, etc. I would greatly appreicate your suggested titles! Gracias, Elizabeth

Are these classrooms heritage classrooms? If so, there is a children’s book from Mexico that I’d really recommend (if not, it will be too difficult) called “Las culturas prehispánicas”, part of the Cronito en la historia series by Editorial Trillas.
I was hoping to get to the chapter about the Olmecas with my high school freshmen this year but ran out of time. Really beautiful colorful book that I bought for 70 pesos a little over a year ago.
