I was born in Mexico, I took Heritage Speakers classes while in high school; I took Chicano Studies, history and Spanish courses at UCLA; I met and married my Spanish-speaking husband; I have taught Spanish courses since 1982. I teach heritage speakers and also speak Spanish at home.

I am an AP Reader and College Board Consultant for AP Spanish Literature & Culture, and present one-day workshops and summer institutes. I have served on several test development committees for the College Board. I also am a facilitator for Central California’s World Language Project. We have two adult children and four grandchildren.
