Hello everyone,
Thank you for accepting me in this group. I’m so happy to have found this resource. What’s new on my end is that the Department of Modern and Classical Languages at Missouri State University is planning to offer heritage Spanish classes for the first time. We’re on the beginning of the process and working on two syllabus proposals, one focused on identity and language awareness, and a second one focused on language development. I’d love to see sample syllabi of 100- or level classes focused on identity, if you’d share that with me. That would help our faculty a lot! Tx

Hola, Luciane. I too am happy to have found this group and would also love to see some sample syllabi. I teach in a private high school and our native Spanish-speakers could clearly benefit from a plan of study more in line with their background and language level. I am working on solutions, but seeing others’ year long plans would be helpful. Que pasen buen día.
Hola Luciane y Emerson!
Bienvenidos al foro! I am currently working on compiling syllabi from different heritage programs. As soon as I get a hold of them I will be posting them on the website 🙂 Meanwhile, we have these syllabi on our webpage 🙂 https://heritagespanish.coerll.utexas.edu/instructor-resources/sillabi/
Thanks for posting that link @laviles – I forgot that that existed on that page. I just looked through one syllabus. Really interesting to see what others are doing with their courses.
Thank you, Luis 🙂
