Hello my name is Astrid Ruiz. I was born in the country of the eternal spring, Guatemala.  My love for teaching was born during my high school years. I was part of a social project in Guatemala City teaching unprivileged children living in poverty.  After the project, I knew that teaching was my calling and I started the process of becoming a teacher.

Teaching, learning and advocating for languages is my passion.  Preparing  students with the needed cultural understanding, knowledge and skills to use their second language beyond high school and become a Global Citizen is my goal.   Advocating for students is a mission that I will ever have.
