  • Question regarding heritage course. I’m looking for some input on whether it’s recommended or not for a non heritage student to take a Spanish heritage course, or would this type of course should only allow Spanish heritage students. I hope this makes sense.

At ACC I offer Spanish for Spanish Speakers and it’s open to anyone fluent in Spanish, heritage and non-heritage speakers.

    • Great! thanks for your input.

    • I have had non-native Spanish speakers from different countries. I have enjoyed their contributions and seeing the interactions with native speakers.

  • I came back to the site today and noticed that most of the links (at least all of the ones in the ‘ Instructor Resurces’ drop-down menu) are broken. Will someone fix them, please?

  • Reminder! Poster proposal deadline for the summer workshop is Monday May 17th. Anyone whose poster is accepted will receive free workshop registration.

An opportunity to share your research or teaching practices!

  • Hello,

I am a new Heritage Teacher and I am realizing how much writing and writing feedback I’m going to need to give this year. How do you handle that in your own classroom?

Also, I am hoping to teach Heritage Spanish with a Social Justice lens, does anyone else do something like that? Do you have any scope and sequences that you’d be willing to share.

    • In regard to your first question: a) use rubrics and b) make a bank of comments. c). Be selective in your feedback. Hope this helps. Best regards. Neil O.

I am currently looking forward to improve the type of rubrics that I use in my class and I would like to hear what you all think about this topic. How are you assessing your HS?
